Baby defies the odds to emerge still in its amniotic sac (Photo & Video)

The odds are 1-80,000 but one little chap beat those long adds to be born inside its amniotic sac. The phenomenon called a 'caul birth' is incredibly rare, some babies are born with part of the membrane still attached to them, but to be born completely encased is a rarity.

Footage show the infant wriggling in its little, warm space. The phenomenon is believed by some to be a good omen for the child's infancy and unproven suggestions have it that caul babies will always have a natural affinity for water.

The amniotic sac is a thin but durable membrane filled with fluid which helps keep a baby warm and safe from bumps during pregnancy.
