The world would be an infinitely more dull place if we couldn't
smell. After all, 90 per cent of taste is derived from our ability to do
so.
Also linked to memory and that feeling of nostalgia we get, our sense of smell - or what we like or dislike - can be subjuctive.
Some
people love the smell of petrol, the Marmite of scents, while others
hate it. Similarly, freshly cut grass, sweat, nail polish and French
cheese are all divisive.
And now there's a new scent sensation which is
bound to split opinion: KFC Extra Crispy Sunscreen.
Firstly, as E Online report, this is not a hoax or the rantings of a mad person - it's a genuine product.
It's not the obvious choice for sun care, however, as the infamous chain point out in their press release:
"The only skin that should be extra crispy this summer is on your fried chicken ." And who could argue with that logic?
But if this has piqued your interest, rather than making you feel queasy /hungry, there's some bad news
KFC's Kevin Hochman, chief marketing officer for KFC U.S., said in a
press release: "While I'd love to tell you our customers have been
asking for this, they haven't. In fact, I'm pretty confident nobody ever
asked for this. It's just some crazy idea we dreamed up."
So, there you go. No one asked for it, but there's 3000 people out there nonetheless who smell like a family bucket.
